In our employee of the month blog series we highlight a different Info-Pro employee every month so you can get to know us better! Up this month? Christie Wehner.
Christie Wehner, Search Operations Team Lead
What does your role entail at Info-Pro?
I am the Team Lead of a delinquent search team. As a tax researcher, I search properties for lenders to verify information and report whether property taxes are paid or delinquent. As a Team Lead, I work on organizing and preparing for upcoming searches, researching the resources and methods to provide the most timely and accurate results, and communicating with my team of tax researchers.
How long have you worked at Info-Pro?
What other jobs have you had prior to working at Info-Pro?
I was a teacher for 32 years. From my teaching career, I bring the ability to organize and communicate effectively, handle a variety of things going on at the same time, and empathy.
What’s your favorite thing about your job or working at Info-Pro generally?
Info-Pro is a company that values its people, customers, services and products. The climate is positive and comes from a team of people who truly care about what they do. I find the process of searching exciting, especially because it involves doing research and learning things about taxes in new geographies. Every day is different. The challenges are opportunities to learn and work together with others.
Tell us about your family.
I have been married to my husband, Tom, for 30 years. We have two children. Our son, Aaron, graduated from UW-Milwaukee and is a mechanical engineer. Our daughter, Amelia, is a sophomore at UW-Stevens Point and is working towards a degree in PT. We have found that for a pet, a fish is about all that we can handle.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to read, cook, and garden (flowers mostly with a few tomato plants thrown in). In winter, it is snowmobiling. We also spend a lot of time at Wolf Lake, taking advantage of everything a lake has to offer. I enjoy doing anything with my family and with a wonderful group of close friends who are like family.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in West Allis in western Milwaukee County. My husband and I met at Wolf Lake, got married and decided to call the St. Peter area home.
What’s your favorite thing about living in Wisconsin?
My favorite thing about Wisconsin is the seasons. Each season offers something special. Summer is a time for gardening, swimming and boating. Winter is a time for snowmobiling, ice skating, and ice fishing. My family hunts in the fall and spring, and both signal that a new season is on the way.
Share an interesting or fun fact about yourself.
We will be building a new home at Wolf Lake in the next few years. The thought of selling, packing and moving are causing some stress, but the idea of something new, at a place we love is exciting.
