In our employee of the month blog series we highlight a different Info-Pro employee every month so you can get to know us better! Up this month? Michael Pidde.
Employee Name/Title:
Michael Pidde, Senior Software Engineer
What does your role entail at Info-Pro?
I work on Info-Exchange doing bug fixes and maintenance, new feature implementation, releases, and technical planning/diagraming. I try to leverage past work experience to help influence processes and perspectives, and I’ve also learned a lot from everyone on the team.
How long have you worked at Info-Pro?
I’ve been at Info-Pro for a year now, starting in April 2020.
What other jobs have you had prior to working at Info-Pro?
Since 2016 I’ve worked as a remote contractor. Some of the noteworthy companies I worked with were Hormel Foods on their product R&D lifecycle software and Cook Medical on their new customer portal site. Prior to that, I worked for many years at Minneapolis companies in the real estate data and search industry and the employment background screening industry.
What’s your favorite thing about your job or working at Info-Pro generally?
Everyone I’ve had the honor of working with has been very pleasant and fulfills their role with high quality. I’ve really enjoyed the emphasis on actively improving ourselves individually and as a team.
Tell us about your family.
I live with my wife Elizabeth in an A-frame with our eight snakes and one lizard.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I have way too many hobbies that I try to cycle through. I’m interested in growing my own food and have had a hydroponic garden providing fresh greens for the last year. This spring I’m setting up my first traditional garden outdoors. I also enjoy woodworking (my truck is slowly losing its garage space to my tools), home improvement, baking all sorts of bread, reading, religious studies, camping, video game programming, and the list goes on...
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Bloomington, MN, about 5 miles away from the Mall of America.
What’s your favorite thing about living in Wisconsin?
I like that we have seasons here. It helps distribute some of my hobbies more evenly across the year, and I get to enjoy the different feelings that every season evokes.
Share an interesting or fun fact about yourself.
I can jump on a pogo stick no-handed. Don’t ask me what led to trying that the first time; kids do goofy things.
